Dewsall Court Wedding Photography

Main house at Dewsall Wedding Venue Fire pit at Dewsall Court Wedding Venue

It’s another week, another wedding blog.  This one is changing direction a little and I’m sharing some of my commercial work. I love the Wedding industry, there are so many like-minded businesses that want to attract their ideal client and Commercial Photography can be just what you need to show the world how fab you and your vision can be.

I’ve had the upmost pleasure to work with Dewsall Court back in 2017 on a Winter Event and it was great fun! With snow, a cracking fire and home-made bread smell wafting in the background honestly, whats not to like! The whole team are just a delight to work with too. They’ve worked alongside Erica from Mr&Mrs Unique to ensure they are setting their brand apart and it’s been a wonderful process to get to know this amazing human along the way!

We collaborated and revisited Dewsall Court once again, but this time focussing on the main house and venue as a whole to refresh their website and marketing photography. I sometimes think as a prospective couple I would always be thinking how can I make my day unique, how can I not be another couple on a conveyor belt. There are lots of great venues that achieve this, but this is why I want to give a shout out to Dewsall, as it really is a special place for creating a unique feel for your day. Plus I always think the toilets at venues say so much about a place, and this one has them to die for!! Ahh the amazing Timorous Beasties wallpaper (https://www.timorousbeasties.com). Keep reading to see what I mean!

Dewsall state that, “Guests regularly comment that Dewsall Court has a homely feel as soon as you walk through the door. We think that is owed in equal part to our colourful history but also the fantastic team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every comfort has been catered for and no detail forgotten.”. This is totally true. Every room just oozes with amazingly paired textiles and rich colours following all the recent sympathetic renovation; this really is a place where you can plan your day in comfortable surroundings. Bridal prep in the house is just amazing, each room tells a story and the rooms are filled with bags of natural light that provides gorgeous backgrounds to create that perfect portrait.

Dewsall is steeped in history. The house was built in 1644 by Richard Pearle, who lived with his family at Dewsall for over 100 years. It was the birth place of the colourful 1st Duke of Chandos (1673 – 1744), who was stupendously rich and a great patron of the arts. The Robinson family – Joe, Jane and Samantha – came to Dewsall’s rescue following the poor buildings being passed around without the love they needed. They bought the derelict house in 1989 and spent a decade restoring it into a much loved family home, the first family to own and reside in the house since the reign of Queen Anne. Dewsall was a very happy family home and you really feel that walking round. I think this is essential when you are looking for a wedding venue that you can feel so relaxed on your day and it each space and room gives you this vibe!

Then… oh my, then there is the food! Dewsall say, “From the simplest supper to the most lavish feast, equal thought and care has been made by our teams to ensure guests are left with happy memories and full bellies! We work hard to source the freshest produce and even grow some ingredients within our own grounds. We have also developed relationships with incredible local suppliers from organic wine supplier Nothing But The Grape to Michelin-trained Le Fleur de Chocolat, Herefordshire’s Chase Distillery and classic tea brewer Trumpers. We are also very proud to support Whole World Water, distilling still and sparkling water within our own grounds and contributing towards their aim to abolish worldwide water shortages.” Pretty impressive, and whats more so, they will cater to all dietary requirements without hesitation and have the most amazing Vegan Menu!

Celebrations start as soon as you enter the gates; with views of the Black Mountains and surrounded by 1,000 acres of Duchy of Cornwall land, Dewsall Court is an enchanting destination that your guests won’t forget. They are an inclusive with multiple on site options available for each part of your celebrations and this one of most favourite elements, so much versatility to offer that makes your day unique. The team say, “You may choose to say ‘I Do’ at our ancient Church or outside in the gardens taking in the breathtaking views.”. I am an absolute sucker for outdoor weddings, so to find a space that not only caters for this but gives you and your guests a personal service is just superb. “You can enjoy the wedding breakfast within our stunning barn conversion or for more intimate celebrations our stylish conservatory, party the night away on our custom dance floor or cuddle up close around the statement fire pit. Exclusive use allows you to truly make Dewsall Court your own to share in a whole weekend of unique festivities with your friends and family.”

Pretty impressive! Carry on scrolling to see more of the commercial photography I shot for the team there! If you’re still on the look out for a venue, I would totally get in touch with Dewsall Court. If you’re getting hitched this year or 2020 at Dewsall and haven’t booked your photography as yet, then what are you waiting for! Get in touch!
