Frequently Asked Questions

Feeling like you connect with your photographer and that you trust them is vital if you are to relax and enjoy your day. I really love getting to know you both before your wedding day and the same for you. You should feel totally relaxed to ask me any questions about hiring me as your photographer. Your day should be about you two and not focusing on anything else, I totally blend in but will always be there to capture those moments that build the heart of your day. I’m a people watcher and light seeker, that’s how I get my shots, that and enjoying the moment in front of me! I love weddings so keep reading and then send me an excitable email.

Q ) Are you fully insured ?

Yes. Absolutely, both public liability and public indemnity insurance. I wouldn’t have it any other way, both from my expensive kit too and the reassurance for your wedding.

Q ) How do we speak to you ?

Whatever suits you! I am flexible but I would say email is the quickest way to grab my attention and then we can go on and book video chats, normally FaceTime, Zoom. This becomes much more structured once you are booked as I will need to speak to you both on the run up to your day to understand the flow of the day you are creating.

Q ) Do you have any supplier recommendations ?

Yes. absolutely. You can download my guide, which is updated regularly and this will be sent to you on booking as well. It is full of tons of inspiration and tips to make your day go smoothly, including my advice of 10 years in this industry. Plus all the amazing suppliers I LOVE to work with.

Q ) How do we book ?

Most likely we will have had a video chat, or sometimes just emails. If you’re happy with what you see, just send me an email saying you want to book. I like to keep things simple and not overcomplicated. I’ll send you a booking form to fill in online and then request a non-refundable £350 deposit. This will secure your date. I will send you further information about the rest of your booking once the deposit has been received and we can talk about the finer details then. Exciting!

Q ) Do we need a second photographer ?

Not always no. It totally depends on the kind of wedding you are having and also… size. The amount of guests you have at your wedding will definitely give you an answer to this. Anything over 80 guests, I would definitely consider two photographers. Often having two photographers on your day ensures that no moment is missed and that your wedding tells a complete story from both perspectives or people; especially the morning preparations. It means I can give you captures that wouldn’t be possible as a solo shooter, whilst also working unobtrusively as possible, so you can forget we’re there.

Q ) Do you need to see our venue ?

No I don’t. Your booking maybe at a venue I’ve already shot at or a marquee in a garden, or somewhere I haven’t, it doesn’t overly matter as I will work with the light and couple on the day; meaning there isn’t a great advantage on seeing a venue or location at a different time of the day or even season for that matter. Feel free to send me any photo’s of particular shoot locations though, as I will always be slightly early on the day to scope these out a little.

Q ) How long does it take you to edit and delivery our photos?

Ahh the exciting part! Well within 48 hrs of shooting your wedding I will share about 50 photos as your sneak. I absolutely love sending this mini album through as it is a great way of sharing the excitement with your family and friends. Then the finally delivery will be 6-8 weeks. In peak season, depending on how busy each month is, this can extend to 10 weeks, but I will keep you updated via email.

Q ) Do we need to feed you?

Yes please! It is difficult to grab food and drinks throughout the day as I am obviously working super hard for you both; plus no one wants a warm car sandwich! I normally take a break when you guys eat and disappear to refresh. However I do appreciate that I have dietary needs. I have a dairy allergy and I am Vegan, so if this isn’t possible then please let me know in advance.

Q ) How far do you travel?

I will travel the UK and further, no wedding is too far! I have worked really hard over the last few years however, to try and keep my business local to Bath, Somerset and the Cotswolds for improving my sustainability and to remain eco friendly. Travel and destination costs will be taken into account on your initial enquiry; including accommodation as if your wedding is over 2 hours from me I would need to stay before and after your day.

client love

Emma was really charming, familiar, funny and enthusiastic which was infectious

“Emma is not only an amazing photographer but also a brilliant person to have around on your wedding day. She works in the background but also takes control with the right level of assertiveness when she needs to rally people into group shots! We both felt really comfortable around Emma; when we had group and couple shots, she was really charming, familiar, funny and enthusiastic which was infectious and you can really see those feelings coming through in our photographs.

We can’t recommend Emma enough and can honestly never thank her enough for capturing our day so perfectly. THANK YOU!!”
