Supporting a small business in Bath
Happy Friday everyone. With wedding season coming to a close for 2017 I thought I’d take some time to say hello and if you’ve recently got engaged why you might want to choose me as your photographer. I’m a Bath Wedding Photographer and I’ve been shooting for about 5 years. I’ve lived and worked around this area for about 8 years. I never thought I would settle in a city as I’m such a country girl, I’ve grown up in the country side surrounded by trees and open space! But then… then you visit Bath with it’s georgian buildings and tree lined streets its easy to see why you fall in love! It’s a real hub of creative individuals and most importantly independents! I love that about Bath. It is steeped in history yet has a real culture of people wanting to aesthetically develop their brands around it.
So have you recently got engaged? Recently moved to Bath or the surrounding area? Grew up around Bath? Amazing! Let’s swap stories over coffee. I’ve spent 2017 in particular carving out relationships with local suppliers to become more involved in the community I live in. I’ve got some exciting news for 2018 in regards to this and plan to continue to work with Wedding suppliers around Bath and Somerset. This approach to fostering relationships is something that I reflect in the way I shoot, like that friend that you haven’t seen in ages, but as soon as you meet up it was like you saw them yesterday! I really try to achieve a fun and playful way to alternatively document your wedding as I really don’t like having my own photo taken so I am totally aware of how that can feel for a couple to have a camera in your face! Carry on reading and I’ll explain how I work.
The type of weddings that I tend to attract are quite bohemian in nature, often featuring a colourful tipi, focusing on botanicals and florals, the space and aesthetics the venue has to offer plus loads of DIY details. My couples are quite bright and colourful in personality and are quite edgy with their chosen attire! Oh and they certainly know how to let loose on the dance floor and create their own wedding festival. Yep they wouldn’t hesitate in grabbing anyone that happens to pass by either, that includes a nan or two! The MOST important element in their day tends to be about them and the journey they had getting there. I can definitely say one of my favourite things to find out about my couples are first date stories. I absolutely love first date stories, so many belly laughs. You guys are odd! Ha!
So would you like to know more about booking me as your Bath Wedding Photographer, interested to watch how I make babies laugh like the cutie above? Well the process is pretty simple, I don’t like complicating things. You send me an email with all the juicy gossip, I send you a brochure back, you choose your package and pay a non-refundable deposit. That’s it. We will then get to know each other over the remaining time left for your wedding. Including a few surprises posted out to you in-between your day. Oh and that includes video chatting! I totally used to think they were weird, but not anymore. I love them. I can show you things, you can hold up your pets, I’ve even eaten tea with a couple before! I totally understand how wedding planning can be overwhelming at times, I was a bride myself, and that is why I will always work with you in making sure we are prepped and planned for your wedding day. Nothing will get missed that way and any stress you have I can try to soak up and understand how to help. That’s how I work, for all my couples and no one would be more excited than me to shoot your Bath Wedding. I even once had a lovely comment from a groom below (who’s busy making shapes with his mother-in-law) who mentioned my organising skills, I do like a good list, ha!
“Emma, on a totally serious note though (prepare for more tears from me)… Right from start to finish you were the one person involved in the preparations that got us excited and that itself helped enormously. We’d have paid you just for that service!”
That little comment alone, just makes my heart burst. You’re paying for a service at the end of day and I hope to replicate that kind of reaction from all my couples. I am such a strong believer in that and it honestly makes me feel all gooey inside thinking that I can do that for my couples. Holly and Dan got married back at the start of 2017 and have since left me the loveliest review which is the best way to describe how I work.
“Emma is the most down to earth, fun and kind-hearted photographer you could ask for! I booked her for my wedding as her laid back, natural documentary style was just what I was looking for. Emma is so skilled, and had such a calming influence on us on the day. Her photographs were absolutely awesome! I just can’t get enough of them – I have my album on my coffee table so I can look through them whenever I need a pick me up! I would highly recommend Emma to anyone who is looking for someone to capture those special, heart warming moments – from laughter, tears and hilarious dance floor antics – as these are the best moments that you will remember forever”
See it’s easy why I love weddings and my job, it’s the best job bringing happiness into peoples lives and capturing those reactions you might not see throughout your day. I’m already taking bookings for 2019, so get in touch soon as 2018 is filling up fast. I’d love to continue shooting fun, quirky weddings and I hope I get to shoot yours in and around Bath next year.
